> Stroke Community Health Charities, in partnership with member charity National
Stroke Association, wants to bring attention to the occurrence of
strokes, the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms and the many
resources available.
Stroke is the third leading cause of death
in the United States, but up to 80% of strokes can be prevented. Stroke
is also a leading cause of serious long-term disability. Although most
strokes occur in people age 65 years or older, strokes can occur at any
age.
